How do you make your make up look more natural?

I have some basic powder foundation, blush, some plumb eyeliner, and i have eye shadow. (but i don't use the eye shadow much) I just want to try to make my makeup look more natural on me. Thanks for the help:)How do you make your make up look more natural?
Make sure your foundation is the same color as your skintone - if not, you'll look like you're wearing make-up. Be sure you blend, blend, blend - blending is the key to all make-up application to make it look good.





Next, select shades that are neutral (so that plum liner would have to go - stick with brown and black). Although a plum liner can work well for a pretty look for sure -but if you really want to look more natural then stick to neutral colors (browns, blacks, tans, etc.).





Then for eyes pick a nude shade of shadow, line eyes close to the lash line (just top lashes), black mascara, and your eyes are done. You can skip the blush if you really want to, or use a soft pink or mauve shade on the apples of your cheeks (blended up and out - but don't take the color up and out - if that makes sense).





Then for lips pick a lip color that is closest to your natural lip tone for a most nude lip color. Everyone's lips are a different shade - so one nude color may look fantastic on your friend, but the same color will look too dark or too light on you.

For eye shawdow make sure you blend the colour well with a proper brush, get foundation that matches your skin tone, not too dark or too light, you do not want to have a big change of colour when people look at you and see that your neck it a totally different shade, it will make you look fake For eyeliner to look natural draw a thin line on top of your lashline. And for blush only put it on the apples of your cheeks and use a softer pink rather than a darker shade. All together with the foundation shadow, and blush, make sure you blend each one to your skin with a proper brush, and bigger brush will blend better.
one key is to apply just enough to look natural. like the person above replied to blend - good advice. for blush it should look like a natural blush rather than painted on and thick. also, if you use more eyeshadow, use a real neutral lipstick and if you use dark lipstick use light eye makeup
